Kaley Cuoco has a lot going for her — including, but not limited to, chameleon-worthy hair and the second-highest salary for a television actress. But despite finding success in certain areas of life, the "Big Bang Theory" star gave up on finding success with marriage after filing for divorce in 2016

In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, Cuoco opened up about preparing to walk down the aisle again after a disastrous first attempt.

"I honestly thought I wouldn't get married again," she said. "My ex ruined that word for me."

The actress got engaged to former tennis pro Ryan Sweeting in September 2013 after three months of dating and married soon after. The couple announced their split in 2015 amidst rumors that Sweeting may have been battling an addiction to painkillers.

"I married someone the first time who completely changed. The person I ended up with was not the person I originally met. And that wasn't my fault — that was his," she told Cosmo.

Cuoco went on to say that she had a very clear vision of what she wanted out of marriage. And although she doesn't think her ex-husband shared the same vision, that clarity helped lead her to happiness in her current relationship.

"I knew how much I had to give and how much I wanted to receive. I knew I just had to be patient," she said. "I had to go through a lot of things, but it brought me to Karl."

Cuoco became engaged to her boyfriend of two years, Karl Cook, in December. The professional equestrian shared a video of the moment directly after proposing to Cuoco— in which his new fiancée is visibly overcome with emotion.

Cook also shared a follow-up video of the couple dancing and expressing their love for one another.

"In life, there is nothing like dancing right after getting engaged. The purity and grace of the moment are inexplicable, it is truly as though life were a balloon bouncing on the smoothest zephyr," he captioned the post. "Honey; all I want is to be a balloon bouncing, bobbing, and flowing through life together. You are my everything."

It's clear that the newly engaged couple feels ready to take the plunge — and confident that they will overcome Cuoco's past doubts. To read her full interview, check out Cosmo's May issue that hits newsstands on April 10.
