While divorce is heartbreaking for anyone, it's made all the more difficult for celebrities. Fans track their favorite stars' relationships and break-ups meticulously, forcing those in the public eye to release official statements when they choose to go their separate ways.

Most celebs value their privacy, especially with regards to their love lives and families, and prefer to keep the details of their divorces private. Still, quite a few have spoken out over the years about the pain of divorce and how it affected them.

These 18 celebrities have used their voices to open up about the heartbreak and (eventual) growth that comes with divorce.

Jennifer Aniston called out tabloid sexism.

The "Friends" actress opened up to InStyle about what it's like to have tabloids chronicling her relationships — and how they always paint the woman as the villain.

"The misconceptions are 'Jen can't keep a man,' and 'Jen refuses to have a baby because she's selfish and committed to her career,'" she said. "Or that I'm sad and heartbroken. First, with all due respect, I'm not heartbroken. And second, those are reckless assumptions."

"When a couple breaks up in Hollywood, it's the woman who is scorned," she continued. "The woman is left sad and alone. She's the failure. F that. When was the last time you read about a divorced, childless man referred to as a spinster?"

Ashton Kutcher spoke the truth.

"Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world," Kutcher tweeted simply when the news broke about his separation from Demi Moore, "and unfortunately sometimes they fail."

Kutcher is now married to Mila Kunis.

Eva Longoria opened up about her mental health post-divorce.

"[People] kept saying, 'You look amazing. Divorce agrees with you,'" she revealed to Dr. Oz on his talk show. "And I was like, 'I don't feel good. I have no energy.'"

"I didn't know I was depressed," she continued. "I mean, I knew it was a sad moment in my life, but I wouldn't categorize myself as depressed."
