- A theory that Drake has been dropping hints about having an affair with Kim Kardashian West recently went viral.
- Even Nick Cannon, who dated Kardashian West in 2007, speculated that it could be true.
- Kardashian West swiftly shut down the speculation with a comment on Instagram: "Never happened. End of story."
- The next day, Kanye West publicly apologized to Drake on Twitter for "stepping on" his album release and promised to come see him perform soon.
Kim Kardashian West shut down speculation that she had an affair with Drake.
The reality star took to Instagram and commented on a report from The Shade Room, simply writing, "Never happened. End of story."
The response comes after one Twitter user theorized the rapper has been dropping hints that he slept with Kardashian West — and that this ultimately fueled Drake's recent feud with her husband, Kanye West.
Drake’s been telling us for months now he slept with Kim K, we just haven’t been listening

The theory even caught the attention of Nick Cannon, who dated Kardashian West back in 2006. Cannon speculated on Complex's show "Everyday Struggle" that an affair between her and Drake is not "that far off of a concept."
The theorist, Tyler Morrison, cites vague lyrics from Drake's most recent album "Scorpion" and claims they refer to Kardashian West, including lyrics from the popular song "In My Feelings." In the opening line, Drake raps, "Kiki, do you love me?"— which happens to be a nickname for Kardashian West often used by her sisters.
Thought to myself, Kiki is pretty damn close to Kim. Quick twitter search and I find these. pic.twitter.com/4cZkS7Rrs5

Morrison also noted that Drake and West have been embroiled in a long-running feud, which culminated in Drake taking shots at West on his Pusha-T diss track "Duppy Freestyle." (Pusha-T and West are close friends and frequent collaborators, both signed to West's label.)

Fans have hypothesized that Drake never released a second diss track because he has information on West that could severely damage his reputation. Morrison cited an interview with J. Prince, a close friend of both rappers, who claimed that Drake's could have "destroyed [Kanye's] livelihood."
Rap fans grilled Drake about not responding to Push. Except we don’t know the half of it he says. And whatever it is, he can only tell us about it in pieces.

Interestingly, just one day after Kardashian West denied the theory, West extended an olive branch to Drake with a lengthy series of tweets.
West apologized for "stepping on" Drake's album release and said he's "sending good energy and love to Drake and family and crew."
"There should have been no songs with my involvement that had any negative energy towards you," he continued. "I love you and I love Pusha and we all have an admiration for each other's craft."
This is all Jedi level. I will be coming to your show within the next seven days to give love and be inspired by the art you have created.

This has been an eventful summer for rappers who have issues with the Kardashians. Kardashian West's little sister Kylie Jenner and her boyfriend Travis Scott have been targeted by Nicki Minaj, who is angry that Scott's album took the No. 1 spot away from her own.
